- SAN is the largest manufacturer of Diesel Hydraulic/Electric Shunting Locomotives in the private sector, having designed/engineered and supplied over 1000 locomotives and special purpose vehicles to various infrastructure users in India over 4 decades. Our range includes Locomotives from 335 HP extending up to 3000HP and tailor-made to suit the customer requirement.

- SAN has manufactured and supplied Rail Borne Maintenance Vehicle (RBMV), UTV (Utility Track Vehicle), and 3 CAR DHMU (Diesel Hydraulic Multiple Unit) to Indian Railways.
- Apart from the above, SAN specializes in building special-purpose vehicles such as 4 Wheeler OHE, 8 Wheeler OHE, Tower Wagons, Rail Cranes, Rail Cars, Battery Locomotives, and Granby Cars for various organizations.
- State-of-the-art manufacturing facilities at Bangalore and Mysore in the southern part of INDIA ensure that all critical aggregates are built in-house, the hydro dynamic turbo reversing transmission, the final Drives, Heavy duty Cardan Shafts, and other components required to build locomotives, adhere to stringent Quality Assurance procedures.
- SAN is presently manufacturing in-house Hydraulic transmissions / Gearboxes which were originally developed under a strategic alliance with VOITH GmbH, Germany. Gearboxes, Final Drives, and Cardan Shafts have been developed by our Govt. Recognized R&D wing using advanced Solid modeling ST8 and with FEA analysis that runs on packages like I-DEAS ver 8m2. We also use gear design software KISSOFT and computer-aided manufacturing techniques on the shop floor. Wheels and wheelsets are assembled with technical know-how from LUCCHINI of Italy.
